I often create collages and little figures out of scraps of paper and cardboard from the recycling bins while I'm at work. I work a lot better when my hands are occupied. About a week ago I made a little dog for one of my co-workers and I liked it a lot so I decided it would be fun to make some more.
Even though they don't seem like much it takes about 4-6 hours to build one little figure. I start out with stencils I design for the different cubes for the basic body. I cut them out, stick the right colored paper to them, fold and glue them together, and add limbs and accessories that I build separately. Each one I do gets more and more complex.
The first two I made were a pink dog holding a bone and a frog that's tongue comes out of it's mouth when you pull on it. The tongue is covered with flies (sorry for the fuzzy photos).
I made a couple of blue elephants next.
Tomorrow I'm going to finish up some Mario Bros. ones.
This could be fun.
